So Many Reasons to Smile
Case 2
Concern
This patient didn’t like the unmatched shades and shape of her teeth created by multiple old bonded fillings as well as “opaque” looking crowns.
Solution
The patient completed InvisalignTM orthodontics to improve tooth alignment. Because the teeth appeared too long for the patient’s smile line, the intended modification was demonstrated with the quick visual aid of blocking out the bottom edges.
After the old crowns and bonding were removed, temporary crowns and veneers were placed so that the patient could evaluate the proposed changes before placement of the final veneers. The temporaries served as a guide for fabrication at the fine art lab.
Finally, the porcelain (ceramic) veneers and crowns were placed to achieve a balanced shape and tooth length with a hue that matches her natural teeth for an enhanced natural looking smile.
